David Ryan Polgar is a writer, attorney, and college professor living in West Hartford. Focusing on entertainment law, Polgar assists filmmakers, musicians, and public figures in copyright and contractual matters. One of his focuses is how law is adjusting to our rapidly changing technological landscape and how this is altering such conceptions as fair use.

Andrew Gernhard - a Norwich native, has been making films in Connecticut
since 2000. His Rocky Hill-based company Synthetic Cinema International has produced eight feature films, with a ninth, Steve Niles' Remains, currently
in post-production for NBC Universal's Chiller Network.
Deborah Gaudet - is the curator of film and theater at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art. She programs 50 films per year, including documentaries, foreign films, independent movies, classics and shorts. The museum's theater is also a venue for musical performances, plays, lectures, and dance. Debbie has traveled to film festivals all over the world and has organized festival trips for groups to Toronto, Canada; San Sebastian, Spain; Thessaloniki, Greece; and Prague, Czech Republic.

Workshop Title: Stop Bitching and Start Pitching

As screenwriting discussion with Marty Lang and Jeanne Veillette Bowerman
Marty Lang is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Film, Video and Interactive Media at Quinnipiac University, in Hamden, Connecticut. He is the writer (and director) of the independent feature film Rising Star, which will be released in 2012. He is the Assistant Director of the Connecticut Film Industry Training Program, where he has written four of the short films the program has produced. And he won the Indie Spirit Award at the 2010 Silk City Flick Fest. (Which is the coolest thing of all.) Check him out on Twitter @marty_lang.
Jeanne Veillette Bowerman is the Co-Founder and moderator of the weekly Twitter screenwriters’ chat, Scriptchat, and has a weekly Script Magazine column entitled Balls of Steel. She’s written several screenplays, including the adaption of the Pulitzer Prize-winning book, Slavery by Another Name, with its author, Douglas A.
